New Haven is located on the northern shore of the Long Island Sound in Connecticut with a population of about 130,000 people. With such a close distance to New York City, many residents commute back and forth into the City. However, it can be assumed that NYC’s drug influence has spread over to New Haven.
Research has shown there is a substance abuse problem in the New Haven, CT area. Studies have revealed that about 6,000 residents use marijuana, 2,600 use prescription drugs, 1000 use cocaine, 440 take part in hallucinogens, and other drugs.
